ACTIVE CONE DAMPING – ACD
ACTIVE CONE DAMPING is the first form of resonance suppression for metal diaphragms realized by AUDIO PHYSIC.
A U-profile incorporated into the surround has a smaller diameter than the diaphragm. In a special tool the bead ring is briefly widened for the assembly process, pulled onto the membrane and permanently fixed by an additional adhesive. The membrane is now pre-stressed and free of ringing effects.
