CFB – Ceramic Foam Bracing

During his constant search for new and better ways to build loudspeakers, our Chief Engineer Manfred Diestertich discovered the high-tech material Ceramic Foam. This amazing material, originally developed for use in industrial filtration systems, is a porous ‘foam’ of an extremely hard ceramic compound.

It is very stiff but consists of 85% air, making it very light at the same time. We mostly use it for internal bracing of out speaker cabinet as it is much more rigid than MDF but due to its open porous structure doesn’t take away much of the effective volume the drivers need to work.

Therefore, by using Ceramic Foam, we can build loudspeakers that match and out-perform much bulkier speakers from other manufacturers.
